So…this just happened

I’m still trying to wrap my head around how exactly this came to pass, but last week this lovely little blog of mine exceeded 1,000 followers. One thousand! Do you know how many followers I was hoping to get in my first year of this blog? Fifty. Instead, almost 2 months to the day after my first post, I have over 1,000 followers. Cheese and rice. followed-blog-1000-1x

I’ve mentioned this before, but I think it needs repeating. The only reason I ever started this blog was because none of my friends read romance books, and I wanted an outlet to share my opinions about all the smut I was reading. To find out that so many of you out there enjoy my reviews enough to follow my blog is amazing. Whether you agree with my reviews, or think I’m totally out of my mind, I hope that you at least find them entertaining. I try to inject a little humor into each post, and sometimes even I giggle to myself when writing them. Hence the tee hees you’ll often find throughout my reviews. I absolutely love to make people laugh, so if you happen to chuckle a time or two when reading I’ll consider it a success.

I’ll admit that I get excited every time I get an alert on my phone notifying me that yet another person has either liked one of my posts, or I have gained another awesome follower. My coworkers on the other hand think I need to turn the alert system off on my phone. However, there is something else I look forward to even more each day when reviewing my blog stats, and that would be finding out where in the world you all are reading from! Below you can see a list of the top 10 countries represented by readers of my blog:

  1. United States
  2. United Kingdom
  3. Canada
  4. Australia
  5. India
  6. Philippines
  7. Singapore
  8. Austria
  9. Croatia
  10. Netherlands

I gotta say, I’m most surprised by India and Croatia, but it in a really awesome way. Who woulda thunk I’d have readers in India?

So what’s the point of this post? Well, let’s be honest, to brag a little bit 🙂 But also to say that I am truly shocked and honored by all of you who enjoy my blog and keep coming back for more. Thanks for the overwhelming support gents and chicas!

Now I know that the whole point of my blog is to review books so that you all can either add the good ones to your reading list, or avoid the bad ones like the plague, but I thought that some of you might like to know what I’m reading ahead of time so you can see if our opinions mesh or clash when I finally post my review. If that’s the case, then below are some of my upcoming reads that you can expect to see in a future post. Thanks again everyone for the follows, and feel free to share my blog with your friends!

  • Adoptive Personality by Cassandra Scearce
  • Sudden Response by R.L. Mathewson
  • Death’s Door by Dannie C. Hill
  • The Dare by Rachel van Dyken
  • Coffee, Cigarettes and Crisis by Jana Misho

  1. Wow! A 1000 followers in two months! That’s amazing! I’d be pretty happy myself to reach 50 followers for my blog. I’ll get there some day. In the mean time, I’m just enjoying myself. 🙂

By the way, thank you very much for following my blog. I, too, get super-excited when someone likes one of my posts or decides to follow my blog!

    Happy reading!

  2. Congratulations! India and romance… Indians are very romantically minded. Just look at the Bollywood films. And there are over 1 billion of those wonderful people. Get them on your side and you’re on your way to stardom, lol.

Your blog is one of the most honest and witty review blogs I’ve seen. No wonder you have so many followers. I am so looking forward to your review of my book. Even if you hate it I’ll consider it a feather in my cap.

  3. Loads of congratulations on crossing 1000! You are so popular because you have fun writing the reviews and that comes across. So, we enjoy reading them. Frankly, I do not read any romance novels and haven’t done that in a couple of decades possibly but I love your reviews. They are very well written.
I am from India and can vouch for the fact that Indians are voracious readers. I was in fact surprised by Croatia which means we all have our preconceived notions.
