Her Demigod Complex by Abigail Owen

Alright, I’m starting to think that Abigail Owen is some kind of sorceress. I’m notorious for not being a huge fan of paranormal romance, but by goddess if this woman doesn’t make me like the genre! That’s gotta be some strong magic at work right there.

What’s it About?

When Legendary Consultants placed Lyleia Naiad in her job as Executive Assistant to a high-powered billionaire, she was given one directive–do NOT fall in love with him. Given that he’s a demigod, a successful businessman, and handsome as sin, makes that a tall order for anyone. But as an ex-nymph, she has the unique ability to resist his god-like charms.

Or does she? More than a year later, Castor Dioskouri has managed to capture her heart, a feat no man, demigod, or god has ever managed. Given the reason she was hired, she’s kept her feelings to herself. Besides, Cas is still in love with his deceased wife from over a millennium ago, and Leia is a failed nymph who couldn’t protect her own spring.

But now, they must attend a werewolf mating ceremony together. An event where the pheromones fly, and so do clothes, inhibitions, and common sense. Can Leia resist her heart and her boss? Or will she lose her pride, her job, and her mind trying?

First Impressions

I loved damn near everything about this book, and finished it in just a few hours. You can definitely finish it in one sitting. All you need is a comfy chair, a cup of cocoa and you’re good to go! Sure, a half-naked, six-pack ab demigod massaging your feet would be nice too, but let’s not get greedy. I loved the unique paranormal features of this novel, in that we are dealing with a nymph and a demigod rather than your typical vampire romance.

Sexy Powers

Nymphs are known for being sexually tantalizing, yet also for being able to resist the temptations of gods and demigods. However, throw in her sexy boss and a werewolf mating ritual with pheromones flying about like crazy, and Leia doesn’t stand a chance. She’s always had an interesting relationship with her boss. It’s one filled with respect, teasing, and a hidden lust on both their parts.

Leia is determined to resist Castor’s charms during this wedding weekend away, but deep down I think they both know the inevitable was bound to happen. Rumor has it that demigods can go all night in the bedroom. Leia and Castor have no problem putting that rumor to the test.

A Little Bit of This and That

This book might be short, but it has everything! Just the right amount of sexual tension build-up which eventually turns into a wonderful give-in to temptation. Then you’ve got an interesting side-plot surrounding the werewolf wedding itself, and one very pissed off werewolf determined to keep an ancient prophecy from coming true by any means necessary. Then you have their past histories which influence both the suspense and romance aspects of the story. And it’s all blended together so perfectly that no one feature outweighs the others.

Series: Legendary Consultants, book 1. I’m already reading the next book, which focuses on the bride and groom of this little werewolf wedding.

Should you read it? Yaaassss! It’s got everything you could want. A little magic, suspense, romance, sexxxx, and did I mention a bit of Greek mythology? Loooove it!

Smut Level: Not too much detail, but just the right amount. A demigod might be known for his speed, but with the right nymph in his bed he can go all night long.
