Disney Song Tag

I am 25 years old, and I work in a rather small office space with two other women who are slightly older than me. We are all career-focused adults, and yet every Friday in our office we have Disney Friday. What is Disney Friday you ask? Simple. We listen to Disney music, pretty much all day long, and I am the unofficial DJ. Therefore, when I was tagged to participate in this “Disney Song Tag” over on Addlepates and Book Nerds, I knew that I would have to post it on a Friday. Enjoy! 1. A Whole New World- What is your favorite newest fantasy series? Um, huh? I don’t really read fantasy, let alone the newest series. Does the Hunger Games count? Probably not. The Night Huntress series wasn’t too bad, and that has vampires and stuff in it. Although that’s more paranormal than fantasy. Well shit, I don’t know. Pass!

2. Part of Your World- What book world would you like to live in?  My gut instinct is telling me Pride and Prejudice. Of course, I realize that basically means I just want to live in England during the early eighteenth century, but that’s ok, right? It’d be neat to chat it up with Elizabeth and Darcy, maybe drop by a ball or two.

3. Let it Go- What book/series do you wish everyone would stop talking about? Fifty FU*KING Shades of Grey!! Did you really think I would say anything else? If you liked it, great. If you didn’t like it, fine.  There, we’re done, let’s move on, shall we? We don’t need to analyze what this means as far as the secret sexual fetishes of women everywhere. Books like this have been around for a long time, it’s nothing new. 4. When You Wish Upon a Star- What book or series do you wish you could have more of? OMG there are soooo many! I’m gonna try and limit myself, and say From Rags by Suzanne Wright and the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby. Ugh, but then there’s the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters, and the Billionaire Boys Club series by Jessica Clare. I can’t make these kinds of decisions!!

5. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- What is the longest book you have read? Well slap my ass and call me Judy, I was wrong on this one. I assumed it was gonna be the 5th Outlander book, The Fiery Cross at 1443 pages, but believe it or not it was actually Les Miserables by Victor Hugo at 1463 pages. Close call! Either way, I must say I hated both books with a passion, so…yeah.

6. Hakuna Matata- What book could you read over and over without a care in the world? I really don’t do this very much. I have too many other books on my TBR list to read for the first time. But if I had to choose one I’d probably say Catching Fire (the Hunger Games book 2). Although How the Grinch Stole Christmas is pretty bad ass. Don’t diss the classics!

7. A Spoonful of Sugar- What couple has the sweetest relationship? Wow. Things just got serious. I don’t know if I can do this. I’m going to say Tatiana and Alexander from the Bronze Horseman series. I can’t even begin to describe how much I love them. Was it really a sweet relationship though? GAH! Amber and Liam in The Boy who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window are pretty phenomenal as well. Alright, one more, Ella and Micha in The Secret series. There are too many!!

8. You Got a Friend in Me- Who are the best “best friends?” The chicas in Boycotts and Barflies would probably have to take that honor. Mainly because I’d happily get a drink with all of them. Although the knitting ladies in the Knitting in the City series do deserve honorable mention. Everyone golf clap please.

9. Zero to Hero- What character wasn’t expected to be a hero? I’m gonna give an unexpected answer to this question, and actually suggest a female hero. In the second book in the Bronze Horseman series, we see Tatiana gain amazing strength as a character, and risk her life to save Alexander. She was definitely an unexpected hero because she relied on him so much in the first novel, and to see her take the initiative was a welcome surprise in book 2.

10. You’ll Be in My Heart- What Character death made you cry the most? This is a tough one. It’s also a rather depressing way to end this tag, but c’est la vie! I tend to cry more when I watch movies rather than when I read books, and when I do cry in a book it’s usually because of a sad situation rather than a character death. I do remember experiencing some heaving sobs of emotion when Richard III was killed in the Sunne in Splendour, but an unexpected tearjerker was the death of the unborn child of Finley’s sister in A Broken Us. It made me think of what it would be like if something so tragic ever happened to my own sister, and I kind of lost it.
